Our speciality is Learn Bridge in a Weekend. Why not crack the basics in a single weekend and then spend future sessions actually playing! You learn best by playing and gaining experience not by taking extended courses of lessons such as other clubs offer.
Our tutor Ned Paul developed this very successful course over ten years ago. Many graduates of this course are now active club players. The course runs several times a year in various parts of London. Hours are Sat/Sun, 10.30am-5.30pm both days.
Learn Bridge in a Weekend is an intensive but fun way to learn. The course is designed for absolute beginners but will furnish you with all the basic knowledge you need to start. On the course you will learn the basics of card play and bidding and by Sunday afternoon you will play in your first small competition!
No partner necessary, no previous experience required. You can come on your own or with a partner, or bring a gang of friends or colleagues.
Learn Bridge in a Weekend - October 3rd/4th 2026 (Paddington, London W2 3BP).
Fee £135 per person. To check availability and book your place on the course email for a registration form or click this link. For further information send an email or telephone/text Ned Paul on 07792 715517.
After the course you should be able to manage a straightforward social game of bridge with family or friends. You will also be welcome to join the Aces Hi! playing group, or take other steps to continue with club-based bridge. The best way is to join a weekly 'supervised play' game where you can play regularly while continuing to learn and we will give you advice about where you can find such games.
With increasing recognition that learning the basics of bridge quickly and then improving through play is more fun than just doing long terms of lessons - and possibly more effective, a number of clubs have invited Ned Paul to present 'Learn Bridge in a Weekend'. Here are some dates:
Wimbledon Bridge Club is hosting two editions in an autumn membership drive:
Wimbledon, London SW19:
Sat/Sun October 10th/11th 2026
Sat/Sun October 24th/25th 2026
And Bognor Bridge Club in November.
Come and learn bridge by the seaside!
Bognor, Sussex, PO21 1EU:
Sat/Sun November 7th/8th 2026
Please phone, text or email for details of all these events. After the course you will directly be able to join the relevant club's 'supervised play' events and gain the experience you need to improve through actual play. You will not be held back by the speed of a class. This is the modern way of getting started at bridge!
